Voted Top 5 Workshop at VentureWell Open 2023

Emergent Futures Lab workshop voted in top 5 at Venturewell Open 2023

Thrilled to learn that our peers rated our two-part workshop and discussion as a top 5 VentureWell Open 2023 experience.

We, along with our colleagues Soyoung Kang of the University of Washington, Jose Lugo and Mari Luz Zapata Ramos of the University of Puerto Rico, and Khanjan Mehta of Lehigh University, provided a new approach to innovation and entrepreneurship beyond the conservative approach of ideation.

The title of the workshop & discussion: F*ck Ideas: How To Innovate After the Failure of Ideation—A Workshop and Discussion on a New Approach to Engaged I&E.

The workshop addressed the practices that fail to advance Innovation and Entrepreneurship ecosystems in higher education and organizations — and, more importantly — why they fail.

The session combined a panel discussion and a hands-on workshop activity that introduced a more effective method of fostering engagement on campus and in organizations, including lessons learned from interdisciplinary Innovation and Entrepreneurship hubs like the MIX Lab at Montclair State University and the Mountaintop Initiative at Lehigh University.

We've just submitted our proposal for Open 2024. We're building on emergent innovation for disruption to address emergent prototyping -- so much more to come.
